Welcome to my site!
Why should I have my horse massaged?
I believe that horses, just like humans have those nagging aches and pains. Through massage, various points of tension can be identified and hopefully released through different ‘hands on’ techniques.
No machines or gadgets are used as the simple hands on approach on the horse can tell you alot as to how the horse is feeling.
Massage can…
-
Identify areas of tension
-
Mental benefits; calming/relaxing or stimulating for the horse
- Improve and increases circulation
- Enhance muscle tone
- Relax muscle spam/tension
- Prevent and relieve adhesions and increase the range of movement and suppleness
- Remove toxins from the muscles
- Reduce the chance of injury
- Enhance injury recovery
- Prompt attention could relieve future problems
- Build on a better bond between you and your horse, your horse will thank you for it!
Does your horse…
- Have irregular action?
- Unexplained resistances? Stiffness on one rein?
- Uneven muscle development?
- Sore/cold back?
- Uncharacteristic changes in behaviour, performance or temperament?
- Uneven shoe wear?
A regular massage (every 4-6 weeks) benefits the horse in much the same way as it does for humans. It can aid to keep your horse in good condition, improve the performance, reduce the risk of injuries and can induce a sense of well being.
“The massage touch has a very strong healing influence on horses of all ages and conditions. It is widely used to prevent and relieve stress as well as to assist in recovery from injuries.”
